Sculpting in my third-grade art classes afforded me the recognition to be chosen in my fourth-grade class to demonstrate clay sculpting for the annual K-12 school districts art show. it was nine hours of heaven with giant mounds of clay all to myself. During my high school years, I did portraits for pocket money and took Visual Communications classes at the recently completed vocational technical school. I was part of the first graduating class in Visual Communications program and received an award for highest GPA. Went on to earn an associate's degree in Visual Communications at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA - graduating in the top ten percent of my class. While there, I was part of test classes for what would later become the Art Institute's Visual Special Effects program.
Over the years I have been self-employed, unemployed, worked for Mom-and-Pop shops, businesses and large corporations all the while doing my own art on the side. I have participated in gallery shows and won a variety of awards, ribbons and bobbles for work I created for myself. Sculpting, painting, drawing, photography, airbrush, screen printing, auto restoration, home renovations, and even a brief dabble into computer animation. From the realistic to the really bizarre creating art is place for me.

When the budget allows sometimes, I get to play with resins and other less traditional materials. Along with all that, I create a lot of projects by repurposing other items into my projects. These items for repurposing do not always have their purpose determined at the time they are acquired which leads to storage issues that may overwhelm the casual observer.

Inspiration is all around us and can be drawn upon from many sources. Nature is a great provider of inspiration with its never-ending combinations of mathematical shapes and color pallets. Imagination is another great source to draw inspiration. The important thing with imagination is to learn to let your mind wander freely. Uninhibited by social stigmas or fear of the unknown. Family can also be a great source for inspiration. The battle between conflict and love provokes many thoughts and emotions that can be viewed and used as a form of inspiration.
